FPSOs & Fixed Platforms

Inductosense provides non-intrusive wall thickness corrosion monitoring for FPSOs and Fixed Platforms, enabling efficient maintenance, corrosion management, and improved safety

Challenges facing Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSOs) and Fixed Platforms

  • Safety Risks: Manual inspections in hazardous or hard-to-access locations expose personnel to multiple safety risks.
  • Unplanned Downtime: Without accurate, continuous monitoring and quantitative data, corrosion and erosion can go undetected, leading to unexpected failures and unplanned shutdowns.
  • High Operational Costs: Traditional manual UT methods can require scaffolding, rope access, and insulation removal, increasing overall costs.
  • Lack of Predictive Maintenance: Without reliable, continuous monitoring data, operators are unable to maintain the health of their asset accurately, which will cause unplanned maintenance and shutdowns which can lead to financial loss.

Applications

WAND Technology provides versatile, reliable solutions for monitoring internal wall thickness, corrosion, and erosion across a wide range of industries. Learn more about how this technology can benefit FPSOs and Fixed Platforms

Application 1

Topside pipes and vessels

WAND TM Sensors, are passive ATEX Zone 0 rated, that can be permanently installed on piping and vessels. Data can be accurately collected quickly by personnel on board with minimum training required.

For quick, manual data collection, the WAND Handheld Data Collector (HDC) wirelessly activates sensors and collects A-scan measurements and RFID data in seconds. The RFIDs ensure accurate and automatic traceability of thickness monitoring locations (TMLs).

As an upgrade from the HDC, the WAND Remote Data Collector (RDC) provides an automatic monitoring solution for up to 8 sensors, and can be scheduled to take readings at predetermined intervals.

Increased offshore safety

The WAND Solution can support the safety of asset integrity programs, both onshore and offshore. With the WAND Handheld Data Collector (HDC)WAND Remote Data Collector (RDC), and accessories such as the ECHO and REACH, monitoring can be carried out safely from a distance, eliminating the need for scaffolding, rope access, insulation removal, and reducing the hours of humans exposed to risk (HHER).

Reduced Costs

The WAND Solution can help reduce costs on FPSOs and Fixed Platforms. WAND enables thickness monitoring data to be collected by any personnel with minimal training required. Accurate data management and reporting takes place in the cloud via iDART, enabling predictive maintenance and proactive decision making. This supports faster ROI by reducing POB (Personnel on Board) and operational costs.
