Saudi Aramco Approves Inductosense’s Non-Invasive Corrosion Monitoring Solution

Saudi Aramco, the largest oil and gas company in the Middle East, is the latest major operator to formally approve Inductosense’s corrosion monitoring technology.

Saudi Aramco, the largest oil and gas company in the Middle East and one of the most influential energy companies globally, is the latest major operator to formally approve Inductosense’s non-invasive corrosion monitoring solution. This milestone represents a significant step forward for Inductosense as we continue to expand the reach and impact of our innovative ultrasonic sensing systems in the oil and gas sector.

Inductosense’s WAND system underwent extensive trials with Saudi Aramco, demonstrating high performance and reliability under some of the harshest conditions in the industry. The system was installed on pipework and pressure vessels across six Saudi Aramco gas plants and refineries during the extreme heat of the Saudi Arabian summer. Despite the remote and challenging environments, the WAND system delivered consistent and accurate data, validating its robustness and suitability for wide-scale industrial use.

The WAND Solution is a patented, ultrasonic non-invasive corrosion monitoring solution that provides highly cost-effective internal thickness measurements of pipework and other structures. Unlike traditional approaches, the WAND TM Sensors are completely battery-free and wireless, enabling long-term use with minimal maintenance. They can be embedded beneath coatings or insulation, making them ideal for assets where access is difficult or where traditional monitoring techniques would require invasive or time-consuming procedures. The system enables anyone to use and quickly acquire accurate, repeatable measurements with a simple WAND Handheld Data Collector (HDC).

Dr. Cheng Huan Zhong, Chief Technology Officer at Inductosense, commented on the approval: This is a big achievement for the team, we have experienced rapid growth over the last 7 years, these approvals serve to validate our efforts and demonstrate the growing confidence in our technology. Saudi Aramco marks the 7th major operator to approve WAND for use within their organisation - we are now in a very positive position to roll out larger volume deployments to customers on a global scale, delivering significant cost and time savings and improving the quality of data.”
