Inductosense Launches Next-Generation WAND Technology for Internal Corrosion and Erosion Monitoring

Inductosense is excited to announce the launch of the WAND-HDC v3 and REACH v2

Inductosense is proud to announce the latest evolution of its WAND technology: the WAND v3 Handheld Data Collector and the REACH v2 extendable probe. Developed through close collaboration with industry partners, these new products deliver improved performance, flexibility, and user experience.

Trusted and deployed globally by major operators, the Inductosense WAND system is a scalable solution for internal corrosion and erosion monitoring. The system combines battery-free, embeddable ultrasonic sensors with either a handheld or remote data collectors and the iDART software platform, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing costs and onsite personnel.

Key enhancements of the new WANDv3 and REACHv2 include:

  • High-volume data capture: WAND v3 enables users to collect thousands of readings from the installed WAND TM Sensors, supporting large-scale deployments.
  • Enhanced access to difficult to reach locations: Both WAND v3 and REACH v2 feature a flexible reader head for accessing sensors. The REACH v2 can be used to access sensors installed at height.
  • Improved screen visibility: A large, bright display ensures usability in all lighting conditions.
  • Future-ready software and sensor compatibility: WAND v3 supports remote firmware updates via the iDART software and is designed to work with upcoming sensor innovations from Inductosense.
  • Tool-free integration: REACH v2 connects easily with the WAND v3 with no tools required and enables accurate, repeatable thickness measurements from sensors (along with the RFID reading from the sensors) at height (extends to 4.3m)
  • Optimised for field use: Made from lightweight carbon fibre, REACH v2 collapses to 1.5 meters, making it easy to handle and transport.

Dr Chenghuan Zhong, CTO of Inductosense, said:

"It’s exciting to see our hard work and dedication over the past three years have taken the Inductosense product line to the next level. We designed this next generation in close collaboration with end users to address the most challenging applications for internal corrosion and erosion monitoring, and to support all the sensor advancements coming down the pipeline. Watch this space!"
