We Are Hiring – Embedded Systems Engineer

Bristol, UK - Hybrid

Role Overview

As an Embedded Systems Engineer at Inductosense, you will play a key role in the development of our next generation of permanently installed ultrasonic sensing products. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute across the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototype through to production, customer deployment and ongoing product improvement.

This is a hands-on engineering role combining embedded firmware, electronics development and product integration. You will work closely with firmware, hardware, software, mechanical and manufacturing engineers to design reliable industrial products deployed in demanding environments across the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

The role would suit an engineer with several years of commercial experience who enjoys solving practical engineering problems, is comfortable working across hardware and software boundaries, and wants to broaden their expertise into regulated industrial products, including ATEX/IECEx intrinsic safety.

Previous experience of ATEX or IECEx is not essential. We will provide training and mentoring for candidates with the right technical aptitude and attitude.

About Inductosense

Inductosense designs and manufactures ultrasonic sensing technology that enables asset owners to monitor corrosion more effectively. Our technology helps customers reduce costs, prevent unplanned shutdowns, support net zero targets, and transition to fully digital solutions.

Our core technology is based on patented, embeddable, wireless, battery-free sensors supported by a range of digital data collection systems, including IoT and robotics platforms. The unique advantages of this technology also allow us to work with OEM partners to integrate sensing capability directly into products during manufacture.

Since spinning out of the University of Bristol in 2015, we have focused on developing and certifying our technology while working closely with major industrial companies around the world. Inductosense’s WAND technology has now been approved by some of the largest organisations in the energy sector, and customers are increasingly deploying our systems at scale.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will help deliver high-quality embedded products by contributing across:

  • Embedded firmware development
  • Electronics design and debugging
  • Prototype development
  • Product verification and validation
  • Manufacturing support
